Position Overview

Become a tutor with the School of Economics

Tutors play a critical ‘frontline’ role in the delivery of the School’s extensive teaching program.

We employ new tutors each year to undertake tutorial work in undergraduate and postgraduate economics units of study. Tutors are appointed on a casual basis for the entire academic year (Semesters 1 and 2). There is also a limited mid-year intake for Semester 2.

Students enrolled in the following University of Sydney economics courses are encouraged to apply to be a tutor*:

  • Higher degree by research (PhD, MPhil, MA)
  • Honours (4th year)
  • Master of Economic Analysis (minimum distinction average to date)
  • Master of Economics [3rd or 4th semester] (minimum distinction average to date).
