Position Overview
A specialist school in Skelmersdale are seeking Teaching Assistants to join their team on a long term basis from September. If you are passionate about supporting young people, and students who require further development in their learning, then this could be role for you. The school caters for primary aged children with SEMH (social, emotional and mental health needs). There are other needs within the school, such as autism, ADHD and learning difficulties. There is some challenging behaviour, so previous experience with de-escalation would be required. The school is smaller than average with around 50 pupils on role. The class sizes are small with only 6 -12 pupils in each class. As a Teaching Assistant specialising in SEMH, you will be expected to be a reliable, resilient and supportive presence in the classroom.
