Job Summary

The Attending Physician will work within the Section of Palliative Medicine. Responsibilities will include 12-14 weeks per year as the Lead Attending for inpatient consultative services. This will include the participation in and oversight of inpatient consultative services to adults and children hospitalized at Stroger Hospital, grief counseling for families experiencing a hospital death, and advance care planning.Assists as a back-up or second inpatient consultative Attending throughout the year. Will participate in outpatient palliative services co-located in various specialty clinics. Serves as consultative and/or primary care for patients with high symptom, complex, chronic illness. Participates in the teaching of fellows and medical students.
