THE OPPORTUNITY Assists in the development and implementation of a program for the care and prevention of athletic injuries. WHAT YOU WILL DO Assist in the administration of the Sports Medicine Program. Develop, train, and supervise Work Study Training Room Assistants. Help supervise use of all Athletic Training Room facilities. Maintain current medical paperwork on athletes they oversee. Work independently with the medical care and rehabilitation of student‐athletes. Provide medical coverage for home varsity athletic contests and practices and away contests as assigned. Collaborate with coaching staff in developing conditioning, weight training, and nutrition programs for athletes. Advise coaching staff of daily medical status of injured players. Maintain responsibility, upon a physician's advice, in determining the athlete's ability to return to participation at any level.
