Birkbeck, University of London is seeking an Associate Lecturer to support the School of Creative Arts, Culture and Communication in the academic year.

Responsibilities

Teach Chinese Mandarin language modules, including Chinese 1 and possibly Chinese 2 and 3 depending on student numbers. All language modules run once a week at one of the following times: Thursday 6-8.30pm, Friday 6-8.30pm, Saturday pm, Saturday 2-4.30pm. Each class is 2.5 hours and the module runs for 3 terms (24 weeks total). The role includes preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties related to the course.

Qualifications

• Native knowledge of Mandarin Chinese and simplified characters.
• Experience teaching Mandarin Chinese to beginners, post‑beginners and intermediate levels and qualification to the corresponding level of the award, or equivalent professional/industry experience.
