Assistant Head Nurse – DTC Surgical Suite

As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Assistant Head Nurse (AHN) is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. The AHN assumes responsibility and acts as a resource for staff skill assessment and development. The AHN will provide leadership in clinical practice through coordination and monitoring of clinical activities, management of equipment, supplies and patient flow through the surgical suite. The AHN is in a leadership role and must demonstrate a professional, positive attitude, excellent communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills. The AHN serves as a role model and leader within the department and will be responsible for a surgical service or services within the department.
