The Central AMHP Team is a highly responsive, 24/7 service operating every day of the year, including public holidays, delivering critical statutory functions under the Mental Health Act (1983). Commissioned by Sheffield City Council, the service plays a vital role in ensuring that individuals are assessed lawfully, safely, and with their rights at the centre of all decision-making. Based at the Sheffield Health Partnership Trust Crisis Hub at the Longley Centre S5 7JT, the team benefits from strong, integrated working relationships with key partners including Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and South Yorkshire Police, enabling timely, coordinated responses in high-risk and complex situations.
