Responsibilities:
Support NASA’s mission of landing Boots on the Moon by 2028, which also supports NASA’s goal of having two lunar landings in 2028. These ambitious goals require a human Landing System (HLS), which is being developed by competing HLS providers for each mission. The selected candidate will join an established team that is conducting independent analyses of the data, results, and recommendations delivered by the HLS providers.
These insight efforts will involve complex data analysis and synthesis of information that includes geological and environmental properties, spacecraft capabilities, mission design factors, launch window opportunities, and communication availability. Potential landing sites are first assessed to confirm that the spacecraft can land safely.
