THE OPPORTUNITYThe Department of Cell, Developmental, and Integrative Biology () at the University of Alabama at Birmingham () Heersink School of Medicine () is actively seeking exceptional candidates to join our department. Successful candidates will be appointed to an open rank and tenure position commensurate with their qualifications. We are specifically looking for individuals with cutting-edge research programs in 1) cilia-mediated signaling and biology or 2) neurodegeneration or neurological injury. This includes individuals with expertise in ciliopathy-related disorders, cystic kidney diseases, or neuroinflammation utilizing innovative cell, organoid, or in vivo models. Candidates with expertise in other areas that synergize with existing knowledge in our department, such as microscopy, neuroscience, neurooncology, glycobiology, and metabolism, are also encouraged to apply.
