The role requires a good level of physical fitness, practical knowledge of construction methods, and an understanding of commonly used materials. Initially, groundworkers assist with site preparation, including the safe unloading, handling, and storage of materials. As work progresses, they support a range of construction activities that form the groundwork for all subsequent building operations.
